Going to create my own CMS and Shopping scripts

I created a datafeed driven shopping script years ago. I have also created an Ebay store script. These were just for my own use. They worked perfectly. The shopping script is still active and running a number of shops where I earn a little money from affiliation concerns. Now that I have started flogging stuff on Ebay I have also looked at the range of eCommerce solutions on the net. They seem overly complicated to me and very ponderous in some cases. One thing I hate is website slowness - as do visitors and Google come to that. I think I can create both a CMS and Shopping Script using flat files. This would make both lightning fast. I have been given it some thought and will start today. I shall base it on Bootstrap for the templates.

How I intend to go about it ...

I shall use a Bootstrap template for the overall look and control of the site - the CMS (Content Management System) and Shop. I shall control all the panels by the $_GET variable. In fact, I shall control everything in this manner. It will make for very long URLS at times (think Amazon), but it will make everything that much easier to work with as it gives you huge control over site development and can be added to quite easily. Basically it means I can use such URL extensions as q?=(something) to cause some effect to occur in the site. Time to look for the template files I need.

I have progressed quite a long way with this. I thought to have a go at creating my own CMS first, basing the design on Bootstrap. I now have a working admin panel complete with a text editor (CKEditor with image uploader) and a means of displaying the created files in the correct order. I am using a flat file system of storage. This will make the whole website very fast and it is also interesting for me to work on the flat file system itself. At the moment I have the login to admin sorted, the main part of the file creation process and the ordered display it all needs. My next job is to add the code to the bootstrap template. Going a lot quicker than I thought it would. Might have me a working CMS by this time tomorrow. My whole thought with regard to this new CMS is utter simplicity. Keep it dead simple and cut out the unnecessary. Going well so far.
